Piano Y Voz was an intimate and soulful show that took us on a voyage inside the heart and soul of Pau Donés by offering an exclusive insight into his creative mind; his love letters and stories framed his compositions in an exquisitely crafted way. A simple stage setup gave the venue the feeling of an intimate living room setting where the audience was invited inside and taken care of by a most gracious host. This stripped format masterfully wove a web of stories that celebrated love, coped with loss, and ultimately, reminded us that even though there is no greater risk than expressing your love and fearing rejection, there is also no greater satisfaction and reward than falling in love with that person.
Piano Y Voz was one of the most special and effortless performances that has graced the stages of Washington DC this month. Iconic Jarabe songs like La Flaca, Grita and Agua, were transformed into heart piercing anecdotes that gave these oh so well known songs a new life. Pau Donés is truly a modern wordsmith with a timeless heart and contagious optimism for spreading the gospel of love to one and all, one love letter and one song at a time.
